| December 29th, 2006
Mike and Randy, I wanted t send you this letter to show you my appreciation and to inform you that I had an awesome time while participating in the second weekend of your 2006 Illinois gun season. I have been an avid hunter most of my 42 years of life with this being my 30th as a deer hunter. It is with great pleasure that I inform you that in all those years, none can compare to the four days I spent with Golden Triangle Whitetail. our first day started slow with bad weather, sleet and freezing rain, clod temperatures and not seeing a deer the entire day, but my confidence remained high and I trusted Randy's knowledge. That night Randy informed Kyle to move me and Jan Grim to the "bean fields" for the next mornings hunt. We awoke to 12-14 inches of snow with brutal cold temperatures resulting in us not being able to get to our stands until mid morning. Driving kyle asked if we would be able to with stand the clod temperature, I informed him again as I did the previous day, that we would remain on the stand all day everyday. What happened next can only be described as "Wow what an experience!" All most instantly after climbing into the stand and for the next three days the action was unbelievable. It was the most fulfilling time of my hunting career. I saw an average of approximately 150-200 deer per day with half being bucks in the two year old category of eight points or larger. There was constant traffic of deer in and out of the bean field with mid-day being the hottest time. Even though I did not harvest an Illinois monster buck, it was an awesome experience that may never be matched again in my hunting lifetime. My only regret is that I did not have a video camera. However, those three days are permanently photo engraved into my memory and I can still replay just about every moment weeks later. One two year old buck in particular remains on my mind. Kyle, Jan, and I nicknamed him the "crab claw buck", because of the claws on both ends of the main beams. I hope he is crafty enough to elude next seasons bow hunters and I have the opportunity to meet up with him again when he is a three year old slammer. I also want to mention Kyle. He did a great job, was very personable, did not pretend to know everything and was open to suggestions, and he is truly an asset to the Golden Triangle Whitetail operation. He is the kind of man a father is proud of. |

| Mike,
Enclosed is a check for our 2007 deposit. If it isn't sufficient please let me know, we don't want to lose our spot again. I wanted to take a min to thank you for this year's experience. Our 2 hunts with u have been awesome from the guides, to the food to the accommodations and especially the way you treat your guides. You make it a first class experience the way you treat all the kids is wonderful. I complimented Grant on his "people skills" over our trip and the way you treat people is part of that process. You can see your personality is rubbing off on your son. I think the best compliment we (your guest) could pay you and the staff is that any of the hunters could sit at the booth of the Sportsman's shows and sell your hunt. Bet not many outfitters can do that. Enclosed is a picture of Grant's 11 pt from Monday in Maryland. It was 10:30am 70 degrees and he was the only one on the stand when it arrived. Thanks Again, P.S. Note the hat I think he sleeps in it! |
